D. M.

He flipped through to the last picture,
he was a lot younger then,
A smile that could only belong to a child,
he stared at it,
at the last smile of his childhood.

He became older,
His heart, colder ,
He paused for a moment and looked at her,
It was the last time she walked alight,
The rest of her life
she lived in fright.

He wanted a-way,
Back to his home,
Back to her,
Where..
She was alive still.
